I am currently a Resident in Counseling working toward my licensure for LPC and certification as a play therapist under the supervision of Tanya Hull, LPC, RPT-S. I received a master's in education and human development. In addition, I earned a master's in counseling from George Washington University. I am licensed to practice as a school counselor in the state of Virginia and also certified as a Career Development Facilitator. I am currently a member of the Virginia Association for Play Therapy. Much of my counseling experience has been providing individual and group counseling for children and adolescents with issues related to anxiety, ADHD, depression, emotional and behavioral regulation, trauma, divorce, and family separation. I also have experience assisting parents with using positive parenting practices and child-parent relationship training to help support their children at home. I would like to describe myself as an integrative counselor that incorporates various treatment approaches based on the needs and interests of the client. Some of the treatment approaches that I utilize are non-directive play therapy, sand tray therapy, internal family systems, child-parent relationship training, art therapy techniques, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Prior to working at Family Therapeutics, I worked as a professional school counselor with students of all ages. In the school system, I provided short-term small group and individual counseling, and served as a member of IEP and child study teams to help support students in the classroom. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family, spend as much time as I can outdoors hiking or running, and find new tasty recipes to tackle in the kitchen. I offer telehealth and in person counseling sessions.
