I am the Owner and Clinical Director at Family Therapeutics and have worked with children, families, adolescents, and adults for over the past 25 years. I have been in private practice for the past 20 years, specializing in Play Therapy, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems. These modalities are used with all age populations who are suffering from PTSD and/or trauma. Working with children as a Registered Play Therapist, I definitely use a family focus and include parents and family members in the treatment process. As a lively and spirited individual, I bring a playful but professional style to my work with young people. I enjoy using a multi-model treatment approach based on the individual's needs and strengths. I think developing a safe and trusting relationship is the foundation to any successful therapy work. I consider alternative treatments when necessary, such as yoga, massage, healthy nutrition, and working with therapeutic animals. I received my BA in Psychology from East Carolina University, and MA in Counseling Psychology from the University of Baltimore. I enjoy animals, all dogs, and spending time outdoors. Some of my favorite activities are hiking, spending time with friends, and kayaking. I enjoy time at the beach, and anytime on the water.
