Summer Breeze is a rescue and was adopted over Labor Day weekend 2024. She was born outside with her mama and 3 litter mates in the middle of nowhere near the border of Texas and Mexico near the Rio Grande. They were all found and put into foster support until safe homes had been set up. She made the 3-day trip up to me and I picked her up for the first time at a Wawa parking lot at 5:30am in the morning. She was so small weighing 6 pounds and it was love at first sight!! She had her first birthday in the spring of 2025. We are in constant connection with the owners of her mama and sister celebrating the new lives they are all enjoying. I rescued Summer from BorderPawsRGV in Texas @borderpawsrgv who do the amazing rescue work and save hundreds of dogs and cats each year.
Summer took some time to get acclimated to her new home and surroundings. She was scared of everything but with time and exposure she has found confidence and happiness in everything.
Summer has completed 2 trainings course thus far for puppy class and intermediate skills. We will continue to build on these skills in future classes. She is so smart and picks up new skills quickly. Her DNA make up is quite extensive:
43% Chihuahua, 10% Pug, 6% Miniature Schnauzer, 6% Poodle, 6% Australian Cattle Dog, and so much more! She currently weighs 14 pounds and loves to take walks & play with her squeaky toys. She loves to zoom, play tug a war, and cuddle. Bad habits (we all have them) we are working on are chewing shoes and digging holes in the yard, otherwise she a bundle of joy. When in office Summer can join you in play or rest quietly with you if desired. Otherwise, she can be found sleeping underneath my desk. I hope you enjoy her as much as we do at Family Therapeutics.
